Being a Mom

This explains perfectly the way I am usually feeling about this topic. We live in an incredibly selfish, negative world and we're left missing out on enjoying our role as a mother:

attitude

"When you talk about your troubles, your ailments, your diseases, your hurts, you give
longer life to what makes you unhappy. Talking about your grievances merely adds to
those grievances. Give recognition to what you desire. Think and talk only about
the good things that add to your enjoyment of your work and life. If you don't talk about
your grievances, you'll be delighted to find them disappearing quickly."

Mother Teresa

People are often unreasonable and self centered
Forgive them anyway

If you are kind, people may accuse you of alterior motives
Be kind anyway

If you are honest, people may cheat you
Be honest anyway

If you find happiness, poeple may be jealous
Be happy anyway

The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow
Do good anyway

Give the world your best and it may never be enough
Give your best anyway

For you see, in the end, it is between you and God
It never was between you and them anyway.

-Mother Teresa

Winston Churchil

"To every man there comes that special moment when he is figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chance to do a special unique thing to him and fitted to his talent. What a tragedy if that moment finds him unprepared or unqualified for the work which would be his finest hour"
-Winston Churchill

Our Heavenly FATHER

"Of all the titles of respect and honor and admiration that are given to deity, he asked us to address him as father."
-Quorum of the 12 apostles

Today

This is a beginning of a new day.
God has given me this day to use as I will.
I can waste it or use it for good.
What I do today is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it.
When tomorrow comes this day will be gone forever leaving in its place something I have traded for it.
I want it to be a gain not a loss,
good not evil,
success not failure,
In order that I shall not forget the price I have paid
Because my future is just a whole string of NOWS!

Motherhood

message given by the First Presidency at General Conference in 1942

"By bringing these choice spirits to earth, each father and each mother assume ... an obligation of the most sacred kind, because the fate of that spirit in the eternities to come, the blessings or punishments which shall await it in the hereafter, depend, in great part, upon the care, the teachings, the training which the parents shall give to that spirit.  No parent can escape that obligation and that responsibility, and for the proper meeting thereof, the Lord will hold us to a strict accountability.  No loftier duty than this can be assumed by mortals... Motherhood thus becomes a holy calling, a sacred dedication for carrying out the Lord's plans, a consecration of devotion to the uprearing and fostering, the nurturing in body, mind, and spirit, of those who kept their first estate and who come to this earth for their second estate to see if they will do all things whatsoever the Lord their God shall command them.  To lead them to keep their second estate is the work of motherhood, and they who keep their second estate shall have glory added upon their heads for ever and ever."
